Say CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE

Just a quick post: time for the weekly photo shoot and the boys couldn't help but get involved! Here we have Freddie demonstrating his best PCP poses and Harry laughing at us all.

Our pics are on Flickr... not sure we're seeing too many obvious changes yet, but definitely feeling a bit firmer in certain places.

This weeks been good: Harry's had a throat infection from which he's now recovering fortunately. More than this, it didn't spread to any of us which has been a godsend, not sure I could face the workouts with an illness

I'm enjoying the 'diets' (Nath grumbles about the carb portion!) but I do seem to be spending most of my waking day in the kitchen cooking. I've been good too, no foodie indiscretions yet (I'll let Nath explain himself.) Found some great recipes that don't involve much, if any non-compliant bits and pieces - will post these later today when I have more time.

We ordered some free weights this week - think both of us will prefer doing the upper body work with these. Off to do todays workout..... I hate proper pull ups!

  1. That is one of the cutest things I have seen in a while.

  2. Your boys are gorgeous. How heavy are the weights you ordered for you Sarah? I'm reluctant to go too heavy as I don't want to build up, I just want some lean muscle. And as for pull ups...I'm with you on that one.

  3. Thanks both Traceys!

Weights...we're getting them from a place in the UK called Powerhouse Fitness (linked attached.) They do ranges of varying weights, so we picked a group of weights that would benefit Nath and I - 7 pairs ranging from 5kg to 20kg. I also bought a separate pair of 3kgs. I don't anticipate getting much above 7.5kg or maybe even only 5kg for my shoulders - and over time too - they're really weak so I'll be starting with the 3kgs.

I also ordered a 5kg body bar to use with the squats and lunges - just makes it a little more challenging.

I think the thing with weights and bulking up is that it's actually quite hard for a woman to bulk up - you'd have to set that as a goal and work tirelessly to achieve it. I've used heavier weights in the past (up to 16.5-18kg p/dumbbell for chest presses) and got to a really nice toned state, definitely wouldn't describe the results as bulky. Be interesting to see what Patrick thinks on this....?

Anyway, I'm mainly doing this because I prefer using them to the resistance bands - so for the shoulder work predominantly. Will let you know how I get on.
